Chatswood RSL provide generous support for CHS in 2011

Chatswood RSL Club have yet again pledged their support for Chatswood High School in 2011-2012 with the provision of a $35 000 grant through the Community Development Support Expenditure (CDSE) scheme.

The funding will be used to refurbish two of the obsolete science laboratories, slated to be closed down due to OHS issues, to become an independent learning centre for senior students and a tutorial centre for students requiring extra assistance with literacy, numeracy and organization skills. The two rooms require removal of benches, disconnection of gas and water and the provision of new paint, floor coverings and furniture. The provision of these usable spaces will have a direct impact on improving student outcomes. Funding for this project is to be spent, in large part, by May 2012 so Year 12, 2012 may look forward to the privilege of a quiet place to study.

learning1This is not the first time that Chatswood RSL has supported out school. In 2009, they provided funding through CDSE for the purchase of four interactive whiteboards for the refurbished science laboratories opened during that year. In 2010, the CDSE funding provided educational furniture and technology equipment for the new Learning Centre built with Federal Government Building the Education Revolution (BER) funding.

The learning of students at Chatswood High School is enriched by the provision of high quality resources made possible with CDSE funding. The Chatswood High School community wishes to express their gratitude to Chatswood RSL Club for this generous and ongoing support of our school.
