The Chris Stirling Memorial Award was conceived in 2003 by the Parent volunteers employed in the CHS Uniform Shop. Chris was a parent who was actively involved with Chatswood High School from 1996 to 2003, when she died after a short terminal illness.
In memory of Chris, the CHS P&C Association established an Educational Scholarship, funded from the Uniform Shop profits, to be awarded annually to a selected student.
Candidature for the Award is merit-based including the following criteria:
The CHS Year 10 Adviser in consultation with the School Welfare Committee will select the Awardee from the applicant Candidates. Any staff member can nominate a student.
The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. Grants of $500-$750 will be available for successful applicants.
Assessment of Local Sporting Champions applications takes place in four times per year at the end of each quarter. It may therefore take up to five or six months before notifiication of the outcome of the application.
