Leadership Camp 2012

On the weekend of Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th of March, 40 Chatswood High School students participated in a leadership camp run by the leadership team at the Namaroo Conference Centre in Lane Cove National Park.

An array of interactive leadership activities was conducted, emphasising teamwork, communication, win-win situations, character building and ways of leading. Motivational speakers Sharon and Allan Cohrs spoke about their inspirational climb on Mount Everest whilst Ariya Chittasy gave guidance on how to effectively set and achieve goals.

Over the weekend, relationships were built that will be invaluable in the future, opening up opportunities for younger students to approach seniors for help and support.

The Leadership Team would like to sincerely thank the teachers who gave up their weekend to look after us, and our school, the P&C and Chatswood Storage King for kindly supporting and funding the leadership camp.

"I seriously loved the entire weekend! The activities were really good."  Year 11 Student

"I learnt that if you want to achieve your goals, you have to be motivated and think about why you're doing this, and what you want to achieve from all the hard work you put in."  Year 10 Student

"It was a great opportunity to get to know students in other year and, overall, a very rewarding experience."  Year 10 Student

"Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to speak to your students. I hope they got a buzz out of it as much as we did. There were a lot of lighthouses in the audience! Speaking with the kids is what we love doing, very satisfying. (not to mention the teachers were wonderful also)." Sharon Cohrs "EverestOne - finding your Everest"
