P&C Meeting Summaries
December 2012 P&C Meeting Summary
The evening started with celebratory drinks and a light supper.
Special thanks were given to some key members who are leaving the school or retiring from their current roles:
- Barbara Bice for her involvement with all the P&C subcommittees over many years
- Janet Donelly for her efforts with Trivia nights and building relationships with local businesses who support the school
- Deb Cameron for her role as canteen convenor over the last few years
- Kate Morris for her involvement with the Marnie committee and P&C executive during 2012
- All helpers & staff - uniform shop, canteen, parent network coordinators
A summary of achievements and highlights for the year:
- Uniform shop refurbishment
- Investment of $100 000 into stocking the uniform shop with new uniforms
- "A Night at the Olympics" Trivia Night raised $20 000 to support the school
- $50 000 donated to the school to purchase Interactive Whiteboards
- $15 000 donated to the school for welfare programs
- 32 extra lockers purchased for use by year 7 students
- Membership voted to sell the Marnie property
- Community Building grant of $70 000 for an extension to the school hall. P&C has also applied for a joint funding grant with the DEC.
- Involvement with regional P&C who are taking action to alleviate overcrowding in lower North Shore schools
- Plans and designs for an outdoor learning space
Following the AGM in November, P&C still has some unfilled positions:
- Canteen Convenor
- Fundraising Co-ordinator
- Non-office bearing executive members
