February 2011 P&C Meeting Summary

At the February meeting of Chatswood High School P&C

  • Seven interactive whiteboards purchased with funding from P&C have now been installed
  • Maintenance work at the P&C owned country property, Marnie, is proceeding. The business plan for Marnie will be tabled at the March meeting.
  • The school canteen is well staffed with volunteers who are enjoying the benefit of air conditioning purchased by the P&C. The prices on some items have increased due to increases imposed by suppliers.
  • Pam Grover thanked all the parent network conveners and gave special thanks to Hayley Hummerston and Krystyna Zabkiewicz for setting up the Year 7 network.
  • The locker trial is set to begin with 32 lockers received. Thank you to Michael Spence, Ineke Sicklinger and Mary Drury for all they have contributed to setting up the trial.
  • Ms Sue Low reported on Chatswood High School above state average performances in both NAPLAN and School Certificate and highlighted some outstanding HSC performances. She provided an outline of focus areas for this year.
  • The SRC voted unanimously to accept recycling bins in the playground. The P&C are in discussion with Willoughby Council to action this important environmental initiative.
  • A special tribute was offered to Fay O'Regan for the many years of service she gave to the Uniform Shop as a volunteer grandmother.
