Trivia Night 2017

The P&C hosted a trivia night on Saturday, September 2. This was our premier social event for the year and we were thrilled when the event SOLD OUT with over 180 people attending.

Everyone had fun - with students, parents and teachers all enjoying the paper plane, nearest to the pin and putt-putt golf competitions. A senior jazz ensemble set the vibe early. And it was great to see yr11 prefects (who came 3rd place overall) support the night as well as 2 tables of teachers representing the high school and IEC (overall runners up). The victorious parent table were rewarded with chocolates, chocolates and more chocolates.

Whilst it wasn't originally designed to be a fund raiser, when some local businesses generously provided prizes we decided to raise funds via extra voluntary games and to donate any profits to the band US 2018 tour.

Local businesses & parents who generously donated prizes were:

  • Forestry Tools (CHS family)
  • Imagine Creative Learning (CHS family)
  • Birdwood Cafe (Lane Cove)
  • The Italian pizza restaurant (Willoughby)
  • GPK pizza (Chatswood)
  • Nespresso (Chatswood)
  • Radiance (Northbridge) and Toni & Guy (Chatswood) hairdressing salons
  • Fitness First (platinum) gym (Chatswood)
  • Crunch Gym (Chatswood)

A night like this doesn’t happen without help behind the scenes.
Special thanks to our wonderful CHS parents - especially Wendy Claxton who organised our Trivia host Michael (from InnQUIZitive Quiz) & some prizes; Alex Hudson for coordinating band raffle, cake and drink stand, Andrew Stergio for providing acoustic guitar music between question rounds; Julie Farquar and Carol Stables for managing Trybooking and money matters and Andrew Stergio for performing on his acoustic guitar during breaks
Also a big thank you to: Jeremy Cardew (Yr. 10 student) who capably managed all the audio-visual technical operations on the night; Peter Meyer (CHS school GA) and Sue Ward & CAPA students for helping set up the hall; and Clare Morecombe from the Office for her help in advertising the event.

Thanks to David Osland & Evelyn Manson from the School leadership team, all the CHS & IEC teachers and everyone who came and supported the event.

It was a fun community night.
