What we've been doing

World ThemeAround the World in a Night was the theme of Chatswood High School's Trivia Night on 25th June 2011, raising an amazing $18,000 to support the school. Click here to see how the money has been spent.

This ytrivia hall-sear's major fundraiser proved a huge success with 230 people packed in the School Hall comprising parents, carers, friends, teachers, office staff, ex students, community members and sponsors.

Nick from Planet Trivia hosted the evening and entertained the crowd with his mind bending questions. Competition in the three rounds was intense with first prize going to one of our teacher tables "Low & Co" - any relation to our Principal Sue Low?

Jeff Noble, Year 7 parent and fearless auctioneer raised over $2,600 in just the "live" auctions and together with the 120 silent auction items on offer, lucky dip envelopes, games and cash donations the night raised over $18,000.

There was even a table of representatives from the United Nations but in the end it was the Mexican "amigos" who made the biggest impression with their lavish spread and costumes, made up of our Canteen Manager Maureen Chaffey and husband Keith, Year 9 parents and Bankwest Chatswood Manager, Jason Wang and staff.

Jackie Bennett (Year 10 parent) was the lucky winner of the "Mystery Prize" which was a $500 Voucher towards a holiday package donated by PBT Travel, Chatswood.

Through the tireless efforts of the Trivia Fundraising Committee, 137 businesses pledged their support with cash donations and fantastic prizes which contributed to the success of the night. Also many of our school families donated towards the prize pool with items for the "basket auctions" or vouchers and even a holiday home stay. Congratulations to our two lucky students Amy Duloy (Yr 10) and Tom Duloy (Yr 12) for winning the Trivia Basket raffle with products to the value of $150 each.trivia exstudents

It is also important to acknowledge the hard working volunteer parents who helped set and pack up, processed the payments, served refreshments, organized the games, sold the lucky envelopes and generally ensured the night ran smoothly.

Trivia night is a wonderful opportunity for parents, staff and community members to come together for an evening that is not only fun and entertaining, but also raises valuable funds to help enrich student life at Chatswood High School.
